CSIIP links companies and students in STEM, including but not limited to high-need areas such as Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science (Data Analytics, Data Visualization, etc.), Information Technology, Engineering, Physical Science and Financial majors (Finance, Economics, Accounting, Statistics). We invite companies offering paid opportunities in all STEM areas to register today. NEW TO CSIIP : Virginia SmallSat Data Consortium (VSDC) Internships for Old Dominion University (ODU) Students The VSDC project at ODU's Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center (VMASC) is offering paid virtual summer internships sponsored by the Virginia Institute for Spaceflight and Autonomy (VISA) to highly motivated ODU students interested in making an impact on their local communities and the Commonwealth. Those internships offer an opportunity to work with world-class researchers focusing on solving societal challenges using data from space, air, surface, and underwater. Submit your CSIIP application to be considered for this program. Does your Company offer paid Cybersecurity-related internships? Are you an undergraduate STEM student seeking a Cybersecurity-related internship? If so, we may be able to help! Coastal Virginia Commonwealth Cyber Initiative The Virginia Space Grant Consortium is now a partner with the Coastal Virginia Commonwealth Cyber Initiative (COVA CCI). Through CSIIP, VSGC will lead the COVA CCI Node in cultivating and supporting meaningful experiential learning opportunities for Virginia's undergraduate students pursuing a cybersecurity field. Virginia Cyber Alliance Subsidized Internship Project & Digital-Entrant Pathway Project The Virginia Space Grant Consortium is partnering with the Old Dominion University (ODU) Virginia Modeling Analysis and Simulation Center (VMASC) for the Virginia Cyber Alliance Internship Project to support subsidies for company-paid student cybersecurity-related internships in Go Virginia’s Region 5. The VSGC will manage internship placements for this project using its established Commonwealth STEM Industry Internship Program (CSIIP). Internship Opportunities for High Needs Technical Certification Areas In today's technological arena, there is a strong need for individuals with workforce certifications. We are seeking internship opportunities with companies in the four areas below. Aviation Maintenance (Aviation Institute of Maintenance, Partner) Cybersecurity (Hampton Roads Cybersecurity Alliance, Partner) Mechatronics (Southern Virginia Higher Education Center, Partner) Geospatial Technology CSIIP Benefits: Links undergraduate STEM students to companies offering paid STEM internship positions throughout Virginia. Offers a one-stop, centralized, online internship application system for spring/summer/fall paid internships. Virginia-based companies are able to search our database of pre-screened student applicants to find the best possible candidates for their internships. Staff can assist in identifying candidates to meet your company's internship needs. Interns and companies are recognized by the Governor for their participation. No cost to students or employers to utilize this service. Note: Employer must pay a student if hired. It's that simple.
